Help create a once-in-a-lifetime city centre arts event in a pop-up garden of magical proportions. PoliNations will see an epic pop-up garden take over the centre of Birmingham for a two-week festival this September. Giant architectural trees and thousands of plants will transform Victoria Square into an urban oasis, which will host free events, workshops and performances including live music, dance, spoken word, drag and carnival. DiscoInclusive would love you to come and hang out with us on the last Wednesday evening of every month. Many Sandwell youngsters enjoy the freedom of these discos, and sometimes need a hand to get out on the floor and boogie. Tools With a Mission (TWAM) seeks a range of helpers to carry out various tasks, either from the comfort of your own home or in front of a crowd of people. They need support with many aspects of the organisation from computer-based admin to giving public talks. If you prefer to volunteer from home you could help process all the applications received via their online application form and help make the crucial decisions over who they can and cannot support. If you want to get out and about you could find yourself organising coffee mornings or presenting to a business meeting.

We are looking for a volunteer to support children with Additional Needs in music and dance activities. You will support the children by helping them to follow instructions, encouraging them to take part and praising them when they get involved. You will be expected to model appropriate behaviour, so will be required to take part in playing percussion instruments, singing and dancing. You don’t need any experience or skills in playing instruments, singing or dancing, just a willingness to take part. There will also be a few other tasks that we might need help with such as making drinks, taking the register and welcoming new participants. We will expect you to complete a safeguarding training course (about an hour long) if you haven’t done one recently. Our sessions are always fun and joyful and we are sure you will enjoy them.
