We are looking for committed, reliable volunteers who will use their communication skills effectively to listen to and support our service users. You will be offering short-term counselling, for 6-8 weeks. - You must hold a minimum of Level 4 qualification in counselling or accredited equivalent - Have monthly clinical supervision in place. We can pay £5 per month towards supervision when you have an active case - Good computer skills, with access to a computer, telephone and the internet As a FamilyLine Counsellor, you will: - Arrange telephone appointments with clients at a mutually agreeable time on a weekly basis - Provide support, using a positive and empowering approach - Maintain client confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times - Make relevant and appropriate notes - Engage with Volunteer Coordinators who will provide ongoing support

FamilyLine Volunteers are the first point of contact for those accessing the service and provide a range of support via telephone calls, emails and text messages. As a FamilyLine Volunteer you will: • use your skills and life experience to help families • refer service users for additional FamilyLine support including Befriending and Counselling • support family members to manage issues such a child behaviour and wider family relationships more effectively • know when to provide guidance and when it’s better to just listen • help service users to cope with challenges that often cause family breakdowns or lead to crises • support service users to recognise their own emotional and physical health needs We are committed to ensuring all FamilyLine Volunteers are provided with the support, supervision and training they need to enable them to feel confident to communicate with adult family members.

As an administrator you would: • Assist with administrative support to the Support Group Facilitator volunteer and Project Officer. • Support with the creation and coordination of a programme of activities, themes, and events for the group. • Interact with group attendees, virtually or face to face, ensuring they feel welcome and supported in an inclusive atmosphere. • Answer queries from support group attendees. • Input data and support the maintenance of files and systems. • Help with general administrative tasks. You’ll be plugging in and testing the electrical items generously donated to us, making sure they are fully functional and ready for sale – everything from record players to washing machines, TVs to toasters – they all need a quick test! Funding for researchers begins at your local charity shop. Now, more than ever, we are in urgent need of public support to enable us to continue our life saving research and help the 7.4 million people in the UK living with heart and circulatory diseases. This wouldn’t be possible without our fantastic volunteers. Our team is welcoming and friendly, and we love meeting people from all walks of life. Typical tasks include: • Plugging items in, turning them on and making sure all the functions work correctly • Giving items a quick clean so they’re ready for sale • Some light lifting of electrical items and help is on hand for the heavier items • Identifying poor quality donations for recycling • Identifying unusual or interesting items for online selling or auction
