Could you look after our books...?

by Federation of Friends of Sandwell Libraries

The Federation of Friends of Sandwell seeks a treasurer. There are not huge sums of money involved but funding needs to be carefully monitored and the payment for services received accounted for accurately. The Federation is registered with the Charity Commission so is also accountable to them. Someone with a basic understanding of accountancy and a keen interest in library communities would be the ideal person.

Guide one of these cuties?

by Guide Dogs

As a Puppy Raiser for Guide Dogs you will provide a puppy with a vital foundation for its future role as a guide dog. This is a full-time volunteering opportunity as a puppy will live with you in your home for around 12-16 months. “It’s so rewarding to know that the dog will go on to help people with sight loss gain independence and freedom.” – Chris, Puppy Raiser Becoming a puppy raiser is a role unique to Guide Dogs. It's time intensive and suits homes where individuals, couples or family members can ensure that one of our precious puppies is looked after 24/7 - from 8 weeks old for around 14 months, so they have the necessary skills to become a future guide dog. It’s a challenging role but the sense of accomplishment is indescribable. In this role, individuals or households will ‘guide’ their puppy throughout their formative years, so they’re generally trained and well socialised - at home, outside, and in various situations - so they can learn and adapt to different environments.
