Share your skills, inspire creativity, and support survivors

by Black Country Women's Aid

Are you friendly, creative and compassionate? Are you keen to make a difference and contribute to the impact BCWA makes?

We’re looking for a welcoming and friendly face to help with the delivery of activities for clients in BCWA services, keeping them engaged, involved and included. If you have strong interpersonal skills, you’re a confident communicator who wants to help survivors, or you’re a reliable and honest volunteer with a special skill to share, we’d love to have you on board as an Activities Volunteer!

Activities Volunteers will primarily volunteer within the BCWA Accommodation Services. Volunteers will support with the facilitation of different activities, including arts and crafts, coffee mornings, cooking, games and other activity sessions. We have an ever-growing programme of activities across our services. Client activities at BCWA help ensure we keep connected with the people we support, and provide moments for them to build relationships, reflect on key events and awareness days, and be creative and gain skills. Activities volunteers strengthen the positive impact these activities have for the clients BCWA supports, providing further connection and space for engagement.

Volunteering as an Activities Volunteer might look like:

• Helping facilitate a variety of activity sessions.
• Encouraging participation and positive engagement from and with clients.
• Assisting with set up and preparation for activities, and helping with tidying up afterwards.
• Collaborating with BCWA staff to understand the aims of the session and ensure smooth delivery.
• Building a safe space for BCWA clients by being a welcoming and friendly face.
• Being an advocate for BCWA!
