Chance Heritage Trust is transforming the historic Chance School House into an exciting and vibrant creative hub for the community. We are looking for a passionate and organised Volunteer Event Planner to help bring this new space to life by supporting the planning and delivery of engaging events and exhibitions.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping a new creative destination in Smethwick, helping to connect people with arts, culture, and heritage through a dynamic programme of events both within Chance School House and across local venues.
We will reimburse actual pre-agreed expenses.

Preferred skills

As a Volunteer Event Planner, you will support the development and delivery of a varied programme of events and exhibitions by:
• Assisting with the planning, coordination, and delivery of events and exhibitions at Chance School House and across Smethwick
• Helping to develop creative and engaging event ideas that promote the new hub and attract diverse audiences
• Coordinating event logistics, including scheduling, venue preparation, equipment, and materials
• Liaising with artists, performers, community groups, partners, and suppliers
• Supporting event promotion through local networks, social media, and community outreach
• Assisting with on-the-day event setup, coordination, and visitor support
• Helping to gather feedback and evaluate event success to inform future programming

By volunteering with Chance Heritage Trust, you will:
• Gain hands-on experience in event planning and cultural programming
• Help shape an exciting new creative hub in Smethwick
• Build confidence and develop valuable organisational and communication skills
• Meet local artists, creatives, and community partners
