Are you a former carer or care worker, a retiree or someone needing to get back into work and looking to refresh or build up your skills and experience?
Are you a people person or do you have crafting, cooking or IT skills maybe? Or can make a good cuppa?!
We need friendly, reliable volunteers to support our Thinking Differently about Dementia Project. Help the small team at our social groups (Meeting Centres) supporting people living with mild to moderate dementia and their family carers.

Organisation description

Agewell is a Sandwell-based social enterprise which since 1997 has been delivering services to help local, older people to stay healthier and enjoy a better quality of life. As a Community Interest Company, any profits made are reinvested to enable more local, older people to be supported.

Preferred skills

Empathy, person centred, able to support and join in on activities and share ideas. Cooking and IT skills would be useful.
Above all a mix of skills to help us offer a warm welcome to our members and be involved in delivering interesting and engaging sessions.
Adaptable, self-motivated, and willing to learn and share skills and work as part of a team.

Experience gained

Dementia awareness, Meeting centre programme awareness and its benefits.
Group work skills Opportunities to access training or CPD specific to individual and role/goals as well as mandatory training.
