This opportunity with Crossroads is to provide companionship and conversation to attendees of a Day Club for people of all ages with care needs. Care needs may relate to age, medical condition (including dementia) or disability.
The aim of the Day Club is to provide a change of scenery and companionship for those facing isolation.
Your voluntary role will include;
• helping to set up the venue.
• greeting and seating people.
• helping with refreshments.
• interacting with attendees - taking part in activities and games, ensuring everyone feels involved and welcome in an inclusive space.
• providing a listening ear.
• Helping to tidy up at the end.
The Day Club runs 10am – 3pm and we are grateful for assistance for the whole or part of the session.
Please note: no care skills are needed as the Day Club has fully trained carers in attendance.
Agreed expenses will be reimbursed.
Crossroads Caring for Carers provides a wide range of community care services across Sandwell and the Black Country.
We offer personalised and flexible care at home to support people with daily living needs. We also offer a range of tailored support services for unpaid carers (family carers) to help them care for longer by providing practical support and respite, improving the health and wellbeing of carers and those they care for.
