West Smethwick Enterprise are looking for a volunteer to help with gardening and maintenance support across pre-school sites in Smethwick and/or Ladywood.
This would include helping out with minor DIY tasks such as painting, weeding and general maintenance to support us in creating a safe environment for our children and families.
You will be making a real difference to the lives of children and their families by creating and maintaining an environment for them to enjoy. As well as time indoors, you will be spending time outside in nature, and gardening is a great way to keep fit and active.
Agreed expenses reimbursed.
West Smethwick Enterprise CIC is a community-based charity with an aim to improve outcomes for children and families in some of the most socially and economically challenged areas within the UK. We currently provide high quality Pre-Schools for children aged between 2-5, from 5 locations across Smethwick and Ladywood in Birmingham, as well as offering family support services for children and their families within the local community.
We are also building local professional capability for the Early Years sector itself through pioneering partnerships with Higher Education providers. This initiative is primarily driven through our Pre-School centre based in Ladywood, Birmingham.

The role will suit someone who is looking to support a charity and make a difference to the experiences of young children by helping to maintain a safe and secure environment.
We’re looking for someone who is able to complete small maintenance tasks such as painting and fixing equipment and someone who can help us maintain our outdoor areas through weeding, planting and tidying.
If you prefer maintenance or gardening only this is still for you.
There is the potential to gain new skills in learning about gardening and maintaining a safe and secure space, building experience of working in a charity environment and making a difference.
