Volunteer Independent Visitors are there to provide a consistent, reliable and positive adult role model to a young person during their care journey.
As an Independent Visitor you will:
• meet once a month with the young person
• support the young person with their hobbies and interests
• offer and provide emotional support to the young person when appropriate
• complete brief feedback after each visit
We will support you with:
• Ongoing training that will ensure you are appropriately equipped
• Support and supervision throughout your volunteering
• Monthly contact either by phone or email
• Reviewing the relationship with you on a regular basis and collect feedback from the young person
• Paying all agreed expenses to cover the cost of activities, travel, and a gift allowance for the young person’s birthday and religious celebrations
• Access to out-of-office hours support for anything urgent
• Optional social gatherings along with other Independent Visitors
Walsall, Sandwell, Telford and Wrekin Independent Visitor Service, Change Grow Live has grown from a tiny volunteer-led Sussex-based organisation to a nationwide charity that helps tens of thousands of people each day.
