Are you friendly and outgoing? Do you enjoy talking to people and sharing your passion for history? Would you love being part of the team of Birmingham’s most unusual heritage attraction? Then get involved and join us at the Coffin Works!
We are recruiting Front of House volunteers, they are vital to the delivery of our excellent visitor experience and the running of the visitor attraction.
Front of House make those all-important first impressions as you greet visitors, issue tickets, answer telephone and email enquiries, and take sales in the shop. If you’re a friendly person and feel confident dealing with cash and general enquiries, then this role is for you. Till training will be provided.
There are opportunities to get involved with Room Enabling and collection conservation as well.
The Coffin Works museum is a grade II* listed building, which made coffin furniture for over 100 years. We offer visitors the extraordinary opportunity to ‘step back in time’ and experience the factory as a ‘time-capsule’, set in the company's heyday of the 1960s. Full of original stock and machinery, from brass handles to silk shrouds, there is many a tale to tell!

We encourage people to bring their own knowledge and skills into their interpretation of the museum. We love to hear your ideas on things we can do, like events etc.
You will gain excellent experience in communicating, interacting and engaging with the public, as well as cash handling and working a till. This is a great way to boost your confidence and bolster your CV with vital practical and people skills.
