We seek volunteer mentors willing to spend one hour, once a week with a young refugee or asylum seeker to help them with their school/college work and learning English. Mentors normally meet their mentee in a public place, such as a library, but we are currently running all mentoring sessions online. You do not need to have any teaching experience but you do need to believe in the power of education to bring hope and transform lives. All mentors complete our interview and training process.
RSN helps refugee and asylum-seeking children and young people build more hopeful futures through education. We provide a range of services to help 14-25 year olds seeking safety in the UK to get into, stay in and do well in education. The Educational Mentoring programme trains and supports community volunteers to provide 1:1 tutoring and wellbeing support, rebuilding lives and rekindling future hopes.
